El Calafate is located 3,000 km away from Buenos Aires, and 315 km from the city of Río Gallegos, capital of Santa Cruz. Given the great distances that separate El Calafate from other cities in the country, it is best to arrive by plane. Most of the flights depart from Buenos Aires, although according to the seasons there may be connections with some other points of the country.
